The Food Jazz Way.

Faster than delivery

Once you know what you're doing, cooking a real meal takes less time than waiting for DoorDash — and tastes exactly like what you actually wanted.

Eat what your body wants

You're the only one who knows exactly what you want to eat. Cooking is how you translate that vision to your plate.

A creative practice

Three times a day, you have a chance to do something meditative and satisfying. A flow state in the kitchen can set the tone for everything else.

Take cooking off the back burner.

You're probably here because you haven't found a way to fit cooking into your busy schedule. Maybe you've even convinced yourself that cooking isn't important.

It's not your fault.

Modern society makes it almost impossible to get your bearings in the kitchen. And before you know it, you feel like you're in too deep to ever learn.

You don't have a grandma Yoda to teach you the ways of the kitchen. In a world filled with more cookbooks, TikTok recipe tutorials, and dumpling workshops than stars in the Milky Way, it's natural that you'd give up and just order delivery again.

But it was never a time problem. You just never had someone in your corner showing you how to think in the kitchen.

There is a better way.

Food Jazz is the fundamental cooking education everyone needs — the easiest way to make sense of the madness and take back control of your diet. You deserve to eat well. And it doesn't need to be hard, stressful, or time consuming.

Hey, I'm Akshay.

I help busy professionals learn to cook effortlessly and intuitively.

I raised $3M to build a marketplace for home-based restaurants and helped 300+ people transform their home kitchens into businesses. I've staged at Chez Panisse, hosted hundreds of pop-up dinners, and cooked whole lambs over open fire for crowds across the Bay.

Cooking has been a part of my life since I was a child. For me, food is more than fuel. Memories are created over the warmth and aroma of a homemade meal.

Now I want to bring that same joy into your kitchen. I'm on a mission to help 20,000 people finally learn to cook by 2030.

Three types of cooks.

The Planner

You can make a tasty meal, but it takes hours of planning and if something is slightly off or you're missing an ingredient, you have a panic attack.

The Opportunist

You find things to eat, but it's never really what you want. Sometimes you come up with combinations that are... disgusting.

Future you

Intuitive

You're in flow. You can make complicated dishes in a breeze. Stress-free, quick substitutions, and every dish works out. Open the fridge, see what's there, make something great.

No more HelloFresh.

Just the zen of creative self-sufficiency.

Take learning to cook off your plate.

New connections, new confidence, new dinner parties. The simple habit that changes the trajectory of your life.
